What is doXpy® used for?

With doXpy® you will be able to:

  • Link property information to PDF documents. Information can only be accessed through the doXpy® Web application or from doXpy® mobile applications available for Android and iPhone platforms.
  • Identify the source or author of a PDF document.
  • Perform traceability of documents.
  • Certify confidential information.
  • Monitoring of published information.
  • Deter the misuse of confidential or sensitive documents.
  • Prevent the leakage of print / digital material from your company.
  • erform internal control of document flows.

What kind of information can I associate to a document protected with doXpy®?

doXpy® allows you to associate each document with one of the following payoffs:

  • A specific URL.
  • User profile information.
  • Customized text.

What should I do to protect a document with doXpy®?

  1. You must be a registered user (FREE).
  2. Select the PDF document that you want to protect.
  3. Select the kind of information that you want to link.
  4. Choose between a physical environment (which can be read in physical and digital environments) or a digital environment (readable only in digital environment).
  5. You’ll retrieve a new PDF document with a steganographic technic embedded in your document.

What do you see when you say that a document is protected in physical environment?

You can appreciate some little noise in the background of the document.


Will the information associated to my protected document be visible by anyone?

Depending on the option you’ve selected to protect the document. You will be able to choose one of the following options:

  • Public document: Anyone will be able to use doXpy® to have access to the information associated with your document.
  • Private document: Only the creator of the document can access the information associated with the document.

How can I to access to the information of a document that I have protected?

If the document was protected in digital environment, you will be able to retrieve the information of the document through the doXpy® web application with the original document. If the document was protected in physical environment, in addition to reading through the doXpy® Web Application, you will be able to access the information from a printed copy of that document using the camera in your mobile phone equipped with the doXpy® mobile application available for Android and iPhone platforms.


How can I retrieve the information from a document that was protected by other user?

In the same way as in the previous section if the document has been protected as “Public”.


How can I use doXpy® mobile application to access to the content of a PDF document protected in a physical environment?

doXpy® mobile application will open your camera phone and will search for the steganographic data. You must put your phone in parallel to the printed document and scan it slowly at a distance 10 /30 cm. When the document is recognized the application will play a chime and it will automatically connect to the internet and retrieve the information associated with the document.


If I copy a document protected with the physical environment option checked…Is it still readable?

Depending on the photocopier and the degree of degradation that it produces.


What kind of documents can I protect?

Any PDF document without cross references or active security permissions. PDF documents generated from images or where images are used as background will only be read in digital environments.


How much does it cost to protect a document?

You can find here several ways to access to doXpy® to add protection to your documents.


How long does doXpy® will store my documents?

Only during 24 hours, when this happen the documents will be removed from doXpy's servers protecting your information.
